Perfection

With Jesus at the helm, the Body of Christ will be about the Father’s business. This is how we will “arrive.”

Ephesians 4:13-16 (NASB)
13  until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
14  As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
15  but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,
16  from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

We know that Jesus already knows how to do this…Be about the Father’s business. (Luke 2:49)

Jesus understood, in a world filled with other people’s desires, exactly what He should be doing and when He should be doing those things. He also understood how He should act towards the people around Him, since He never violated God’s covenant. (Luke 2:51, Hebrews 4:15)

Who knows the will of the Father better than Himself, the Son, and the Holy Spirit? Can we, as His body, possibly ever have a better idea and plan on where to go,what to do, how to get there, and how to go about it than the Head of the Body – Christ the Lord? The answer is No! We are His body.

Jesus is our pattern. He is our example of how we should act in our daily lives, think, and behave towards others. We know what the Lord wants from us through study of His word and by following the voice of the Holy Spirit, Who is here to guide us into all truth and show us things to come. He (the Holy Spirit) takes what belongs to Jesus- His perfect will, plan, purpose, and ultimately the will of the Father- and declares or makes it known to us. (John 16:13-15) Jesus said that His sheep follow His voice for a reason, because He intends to speak to us with the aid of the Holy Spirit, to guide us. (John 10:27-30)

How do we come into maturity in the Lord? It is impossible without the complete and total leading and guiding of the Lord through the Holy Spirit in every aspect of your life.

If you have to make a choice between who to follow, make your choice for Jesus’ Word; both, written and the revelation given by the precious Holy Spirit.

When Jesus is at the helm of each individual believer’s life; He will guide them into maturity, into unity, and every part of the Body of Christ will be in their perfect place doing exactly what they need to be doing at the exact time when it needs to be done. Everyone we encounter will be greeted/treated with the exact answer and amount of God’s love that He requires – This only happens when Jesus is at the helm. When this takes place, we will be the perfect man, the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ! (Ephesians 4:13-16)
